WHO WE ARE
OUR TEAM
HISTORY
United Church, formerly First Assembly of God, was founded in 1964. After fifteen years and several pastors, Tony and Patsy Morgan, along with their five children, moved to Lawrenceburg in 1979 to assume leadership of the congregation. With only fifteen or so in attendance the first Sunday, Pastor Morgan and the church members began to pray and seek the Lord. Over the next three decades, the church experienced steady growth and many lives were changed. God blessed their family as well with another child and since then, with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After thirty-four years of ministry, Pastor Morgan retired as senior pastor and the mantle was passed to his youngest son, David, who had previously served seven years as associate pastor with his wife, Stephanie. With a new vision and direction, First Assembly began to grow in significant ways. On Easter Sunday 2014, First Assembly was relaunched to the community with renewed vision, purpose, and a new name: United Church.

VISION
United Church exemplifies the purpose and direction of the body of Christ as a whole. A quick survey of our congregation will reveal that we are united not simply by denominational and religious beliefs, but rather through the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit. United Church is a multi-cultural congregation of people who are loving, serving, worshiping, and growing together in Christ. We are UNITED to bring honor and glory to God by reaching this city and region with the love of Christ.
With two services and multiple meetings throughout the week, United members are seeing God’s hand at work in their lives. Week after week, people are being saved, delivered, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be exactly who they were created to be. Through an atmosphere of purity and passion, we seek to worship God in spirit and truth. Our journey has been exciting – seeing hearts and lives changed week after week is immensely powerful and the BEST IS YET TO COME! We hope you make the decision to continue to be part of it all.
